At Domaine de Riaux, the Jeannot family has been cultivating vines with passion for over 200 years.
The Pouilly Fumé wine-growing region lies 200 km south of Paris on the shores of the Loire, just opposite the Sancerre vineyards. Located at an altitude of 272 m, Saint-Andelain (a winegrowing hamlet) dominates the wine region. The flinty-clay soils of its hillsides produce rich, aromatic, fruity wines with a famous gunflint flavour and the complexity and length typical of their terroir.
Since 1923, the Jeannot & Fils family has been cultivating the vines with respect and care, in one of the most emblematic appellations in the Loire Valley: Pouilly-Fumé.
Today, father and son Bertrand and Alexis Jeannot embody this winemaking tradition with a forward-looking vision, combining modern methods with respect for the terroir. The estate covers 18 hectares, planted entirely with Sauvignon Blanc, the appellation’s king grape variety.
